Mailshake and Bulko approach outreach from different directions. Mailshake is subscription software for sequences, follow-ups, warm-up, integrations, a unified inbox, and optional calling. Bulko packages campaign tools together with ready pre-warmed SMTP and charges for actual sending volume.
Mailshake fits sales teams that want a recurring engagement workflow around their own connected accounts. Bulko fits teams that want to avoid mailbox setup and recurring software charges.

Infrastructure and deliverability
Mailshake works with Gmail, Microsoft, Exchange, and SMTP/IMAP accounts that the customer connects. Warm-up and rotation are included on eligible plans, while Mailshake's ready-to-use mailboxes are a separate paid product. Bulko includes configured, pre-warmed SMTP accounts in the email-credit price, so the customer does not have to connect a sender fleet before launching.
Neither service can guarantee inbox placement. List quality, relevance, complaints, authentication, and sending patterns affect results regardless of the tool.
Workflow and product boundaries
Mailshake is stronger for structured sales engagement: automated follow-ups, A/B tests, shared reply handling, CRM integrations, Zapier, lead views, and phone tasks on the upper plan. Bulko covers imports, validation, merge fields, spintax, AI content variation, sending analytics, reply classification, and API access. It does not offer Mailshake's dialer or equivalent CRM integration catalog.
Which should you choose?
Choose Mailshake if
- sales reps need repeatable sequences and follow-up automation;
- HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, or Zapier integration is important;
- a unified sales inbox or phone workflow is required;
- you are comfortable connecting and maintaining sending accounts;
Choose Bulko if
- you want sending infrastructure included in the price;
- campaigns are occasional and a subscription would sit unused;
- you already manage leads in another system;
- non-expiring credits and a low-cost volume model matter most;
Verdict
Mailshake is better for a recurring sales-engagement process with integrations and multichannel tasks. Bulko is better for straightforward email campaigns where included SMTP and pay-as-you-go billing are the priorities.
